El Coquito

Coquitos are a traditional holiday puertorrican drink, that is well known among the island.  Its one of my favorite drinks for the holiday and its really easy to make. You may find the recipe similar to that of the eggnog but this one is more tropical and well in my opinion way better! So in this post as a gift from me and VB Productions, we want to give you our own recipe of this wonderful drink!

The materials youll need are as  mentioned below:
1.) 1 can of  Coconut Cream
2.)1 can of Sweet Condensed Milk
3.) 1 can of Evaporated Milk
4.) Cinnamon Sticks
5.) White Rum (Better of P.R. rum)
6.) Empty Glass Botles

Steps:
1. Open the can of coconut cream, sweet condensed and evaporated mil and pour them in the osterizer.
2. Grab the cinnamon stick and shave the cinnamon that way you can have a more pure taste of cinnamon for your coquito. If you want to use ground cinnamon then use two tablespoons and put them with the rest of the mix.
3. Mix it all together in the blender and pour how much rum you want your coquito to have and blend it once more.
4. Once you put the rum and blend it again, pour the now finished coquito onto one of the empty glass bottles and throw a cinnamon stick inside. Close the bottle and shake it. Voila!! Your done making your coquito. Put on the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more ( the colder the better) and enjoy!!

Zone Free of Discrimination

The world everyone lives in is so captivating and strange. Its haunting and beautiful. Its broken but its getting fixed and its full of mysteries and life. But one of the most captivating things in this world are the beautiful creatures that live there. Those fragile and yet strong creatures have come to  be known as humans. They have endured so many challenges since the beginning of time. They have endured extreme weathers, plagues,  wild environment, wars, different kingdoms and heritage, different will of power and prosperity, loss and many more things. Those events that are marked in worlds history books or encyclopedias have been overcome by people of different races, sexual orientation or physical status.

Alexander the Great, great leader that brought the Greek empire to its golden glory and helped bring prosperity in many ways, like science, jobs, land, etc. As we all know he had several wife's but some of his true lovers were actually men. Especially his best friend Hephasteon. Does the world go on discriminating him of his attraction and feelings toward men? NO! (Maybe his few wife's  But either way, NO!!) Other great leaders are Mitchel Obama. She is black, do you think that stops her from moving forward and working hard for our country? No, oh but it gets better just the fact that she is a woman and black is enough prove of why my blog is a free discrimination zone!! Mitchel does an even harder work than men and focuses on ending what she started. This things are subject that human beings don't grasp.

Don't judge a book by its cover! If you haven't had the decency to even read or browse the summary of the book. If the world sets apart their difference, there is this inner spark that kindles this small hope of progress and evolution inside of me. A change that can be for the better of this world and for the better future. Thats why im taking the step and announcing that this blog is as stated in the top in perfect Latin,  ZONA LIBRE DE DISCRIMINATION (Zone free of Discrimination!!)

So im browsing the internet, listening to great 60s music and drinking my coffee and I come across this!! Now I am in love with Salvador Dali's surreal art and style. "Lego Art" a documentary

When we hear the word "Lego" the first thing that comes to our mind is, well Lego!
For years Lego have been one thing everyone has managed to play with once in their life's. Just the feeling you get of building something out of those small blocks and actually playing with it was one of the best feelings I had  during my childhood. At first Lego to me were just, a way of killing time in a entertaining way. Now I see Legos have become a way of art, of  making movies, theme parks and even portraits. In the new PBS web series about Legos we can see the different and yet wonderful ways artist use them!

I really cant stop seeing the video, I mean the idea or just even the though that your old toys can become something more than just toys is so cool!!

Year of the Dragon

Happy Chinese New Year!!
(Year of the Dragon)

As you all know today we celebrate Chinese New Year!! Well at least I do! Normally what I do with friends is chill at a Sushi Bar and well...eat sushi and have fried dumplings and talk and what not. But do to the fact that this week we happen to be with a whole bunch of school projects and what not. We decided to buy sushi from our local supermarket and just chill at my house and probably watch "Mulan" and "The last Samurai"

And let me tell you that Supermarket had and I repeat HAD Sushi!!

I bought my usual Shrimp Tempura and some Egg-rolls to go with them. On our way home my mom also told me she had saved a fortune cookie for me from Panda Express! I know; my mother is the best!! Once we got home we got ready and started celebrating our Chinese New Year! Apparently the Year of the Dragon comes every 12 year. And this year it is the year of the Water Dragon which is celebrated every 60 years.

We are really grateful to celebrate the Year of the Water Dragon. Like Mr. Kate said for some of us this might be the only Water Dragon Year we experience!(BTW read her article to learn more:year of the dragon- what it means to you) So get out there be successful and enjoy this Year of the Water Dragon and everything it has to offer!

PS: I know Chinese New Year was yesterday, but do to the fact that my internet was gone thanks to the solar storm I didn't have the opportunity to post it!

HAPPY DRAGON YEAR!!
