Rick Genest commonly known as Zombie Boy, started tattooing his body at the age of 19. He wanted to display his body as an art project and his pale skin would play the perfect role of the white canvas.
Genest created the icon of the Zombie Boy and the tattoos on his body created his career of a circus act and also a high paid fashion model. He was in sideshows for a while and then was discovered by Nicola Formichetti via a Facebook page and both instantly clicked. And it wasn't long till he started to do runway modeling for him. The rest just came together like a puzzle. He has been seen in Lady Gaga's music video "Born this Way" and also has been featured in many magazines.
In a recent interview they asked him what do the tattoos represent, and in return he answered them,
"my tattoos are about the human body as a decomposed corps, the art of a rotting cadaver. It's also a tribute to horror movies witch I love!"
Quite fascinating don't you think?? I believe the guy has reached his goal in representing his body as a piece of art and his doing a great job. Here is a small video Directed, Filmed and Edited by Micheal Hurley for Inked Magazine.
Enjoy!
